It really depends on what you want to make. Is it a salad? A stew? Something to take with you on your travels? There are so many different meals that you can create that it may depend on whether you want to go out to eat or stay at home. The good news is that if you’re a beginner and need some inspiration, there are a few quick and easy recipes that you can start with.

Of course, there is always the traditional bean recipe. Whether you add dried beans, refried beans, or other types of bean, this is always a delicious way to begin a new vegetarian menu. Try adding a little flavor by using spices, such as chili powder, ground pepper, or cumin seeds to give it a nice kick.

Another delicious food recipe for vegetarians is pulled chicken and rice dish. This is a great starter dish for a party or gathering, and it’s easy to prepare. Start by finding some boneless, skinless chicken breasts, which you can get at most health food stores. You will also need some white rice (your own makes may work, but not as tasty), chopped onions, green peppers, and brown rice. You can always add your own spice blend to give it more flavor and then let your chicken cook on the rice.

Bean Based Chilli

Another great vegetarian food that’s easy to make is a bean based chili. For this one, you’ll need beans, red or green chili peppers, onions, some tomato sauce, and some dried oregano, a little garlic, and your favorite vegetables. Bring a pot of water to a boil, and then add in all of your vegetables, except for the peas. When the peppers start to blister a bit, add in a bit of water to bring the heat down a bit. Keep red and green peppers hot until the beans are soft, about 2 minutes.

If you don’t like bean dishes, try a creamy, stew-like concoction. This is especially enjoyable if you’re having it with pasta. Using long-grained rice, cook the rice along with the beans for a few minutes until the rice is almost completely done. Then add in your favorite pasta, such as elbow macaroni, or any type of wheat pasta. Drain off the pasta when it’s cooked, and serve with your vegetables.

Vegetarian meals can be a great alternative to a traditional meal. They are easy to prepare, and taste good, whether you make them yourself or buy them from the store. With just a little imagination, you can come up with an entire new range of foods that you can make and enjoy. If you are a bit creative, and can’t seem to think of any food you’d like to try, you might want to consider cooking up one of these quick vegetarian recipes. They can be a great change of pace and fill a void in your diet that you might have otherwise felt empty and boring.
