Pizza With Vegan Cheese: The Ideal Comfort Food

Making Perfect Pizza With Vegan Cheese

Preparation time – 1 hour 5 minutes

Cooking time – 8 minutes


  • Flour – 3 cups, gluten-free
  • Vegan sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Active dry yeast – 2 ¼ tsp
  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp
  • Italian seasoning – 1 tsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Warm water – 1 1/2 cups
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Marinara sauce – 1 cup
  • Vegan cheese – 1 cup
  • Vegan parmesan – ¼ cup

How To Prepare

  • Take a large bowl and add the flour, sugar, garlic powder, active dry yeast, salt, and Italian seasoning. Mix them and pour the warm water followed by oil. Mix with the ingredients well so that you get a pancake-like batter.
  • Now sprinkle some flour on the cooktop. Pour the batter there and add some more flour and start to knead it. Do it for a few minutes so that you get soft dough without any lump. However, refrain from overdoing the dough.
  • Transfer the dough back in the bowl and cover it with the kitchen towel. Let it rest for about one hour.
  • In the meantime, put a pizza stone within the oven and preheat it at 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Take a big parchment paper and sprinkle some flour on it. Now roll the dough on it and keep pressing with your hands till it becomes big, about 17-inch diameter.
  • Using a fork poke all over the surface, but do not poke the edges. Now spread the pizza sauce in generous amount followed by vegan cheese and vegan parmesan.
  • If you want simply cheese pizza, put it in the oven and bake for around 8 minutes. Take it out and cut into slices and serve.
  • Or else, if you want to add some toppings, you can add over the vegan cheese layer. Mushrooms, peppers, or chicken pieces will taste very good as the toppings.

Pizza With Vegan Cheese

  • Do not use cold water for kneading the flour. Warm water activates the yeast, so always use warm water.
  • Follow the steps one by one properly. Do not overdo any step as this will spoil your pizza.
  • After kneading the dough, cut it into two halves. This way, you can make two pizzas. If you want, you can store one part for use later.
  • Though here I have let the dough rest for about one hour, you can give it rest for about two hours.
  • When you will put the pizza sauce at the center of the base, make sure that it is not too much. The excess sauce will make the base soggy.
